Felling Magpie Whites 2 Darlington Youth Under 17s 10

Darlington, eager to step closer to winning the title, came up against a team they haven't faced so far this season. Each player came out of the blocks quickly but couldn't finish in the opening minutes, until a Jordan Wintersgill corner was headed in by Luke Jenkinson. 1-0.

The second goal was a powerful shot across goal that landed in the side netting high past the keeper by Lewis Greenwood, great goal. 2-0. The third goal was started by Jenkinson winning the ball down the right and picking out Greenwood in the centre to slot away his second. 3-0. The fourth soon followed and mirrored the third, Greenwood putting the all in the centre and Jenkinson got his second of the game, 35 for the season for him now. The fifth goal came after a run from Bradley Moncur from his own half ending in a shot the keeper saved, for Jordan Wintersgill to react quickest and notch. 5-0 half time.

In the second half the front three were swapped and the goals kept flowing. However, a few defensive errors let two goals slip and a fifth clean sheet in five games slipped away. 5-2 Darlington rallied and got back on top with goals of individual skill and some more well worked play. Johnson Bannon came on to score a great hat trick, Lewis Greenwood coming back on to complete his hat trick and Luke Evans notching his goal. The game ended and the Quakers are now a point from the title. Man of the match: Lewis Greenwood well taken three goals.
