The reserves’ first friendly of the build up to the new season saw them lose to a late penalty at Harrogate Town on Thursday night.

The reserve team management took 20 players with them to Wetherby Road, and gave all of them a run out.

Quakers took the lead early in the game through Lewis Walton, but Harrogate hit back with two goals in a few minutes. Dale Milburn equalised for Quakers before half time to make it 2-2.

Quakers missed a few chances to win the game in the second half, but it was Harrogate who scored the winner from the penalty spot just a few minutes from the end.

Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “It was a good workout. We fielded nearly two different teams, including some triallists who impressed. Most of the players got 45 minutes, some got 60.”
