The Board of Darlington Football Club is delighted to confirm the loan signing of defender Andrew Cartwright from Sunderland.
The right-back has joined for a month and may make his Darlington debut in tomorrow’s match at Harrogate RA. Although a regular in Sunderland’s Under-21s, Cartwright has not played in a competitive fixture for the Black Cats, but last summer the defender scored twice in a 3-0 win over Hartlepool United during a pre-season friendly.
Martin Gray has been tracking the progress of the defender for some time and is excited by what he brings to the squad. Martin said, “Andrew is a player I’ve had my eye on for a while now and I’m pleased to be bringing him in on loan.”
