We were in the bottom half of the table at the start of January, and our position wasn't helped by a 6-2 thumping at Workington on 5th January 1957.
After losing at Wrexham the following week, we thumped Gateshead 7-0 on 19th January, Bill Tulip scoring four
Then Bill scored another hat trick in the 4-2 home win over Workington a week later
We lost 5-2 though at Stockport on 9th February
and 3-2 at Oldham on 9th March
