Played on November 28, the fixture was the first time the clubs had met since competing against one another three seasons earlier for promotion from the Conference, when Quakers pipped Barry Fry’s Barnet on the last day of the season.
Darlington won this meeting 1-0, Ian Juryeff scoring, in front of a crowd of only 1,763, one of the lowest of the season at Feethams. The teams met again just over a month later in the return fixture at Underhill and drew 0-0.
