My main highlight has got to be when I was made captain, it wasn’t just the highlight of the season so far, but also the year. Leading the lads out for the first time at Buxton in the league was a great feeling.

The second was my first goal for the club against Frickley in our first home game. It was great to get off the mark in front of the Tin Shed. I’ve got three at the moment and I’m aiming for more.

The third was my initiation song on the team bus coming back from Buxton on the opening day of the season. It was probably the most nerve-wracking thing I’ve done. All the lads took the mickey and joined in the singing of Vanilla Ice rap. It was the only song I knew because my uncle used to have it on his car radio all the time. It was great banter and a great laugh. One of my top memories of the season!
