Defender Liam Marrs has this week finalised a new two year deal with the club.

Right back Marrs signed from Boston United last summer and played a key role in the side finishing last season in fifth place.

Cramlington born Marrs, started his career at Sunderland, and was an unused sub on four occasions when Paolo Di Canio was manager. He had a two month loan spell at Boston in the autumn of 2013, and he joined them on a permanent basis in the National League North in August 2014.

He made 34 appearances in league and cup for us last season.

Marrs is the second player this week to commit his future to the club after David Syers also penned a new two year deal on Saturday.

They join Gary Brown, Kevin Burgess, Nathan Cartman, Mark Beck, Phil Turnbull and Harvey Saunders who have all signed new deals at the club since the season ended.
