The race for the title and promotion is going right down to the wire and Darlington’s attention now turns to Lancaster City.

Victory over Mossley last weekend at Heritage Park, along with Salford’s victory against Clitheroe, means there is no change at the top of the table.

However, we now only have three games left, with three victories being enough to clinch the title. After Saturday we travel to Warrington Town on Tuesday before hosting New Mills on the final day of the season.

Our opponents Lancaster come into the game in mid-table with two games left in their season. Their most recent game on Tuesday night, was a 0-0 draw away to our local rivals Spennymoor Town. They should not be taken lightly having picked up some impressive results throughout the season including wins away to Salford City and Northwich Victoria.

Lancaster are unbeaten in their previous four games in April, having won twice and drawn twice.

Ahead of the game Martin Gray said "Lancaster are a very well organised team, and well managed by Darren Peacock and Trevor Sinclair. They will provide us with a really tough challenge, but we're looking forward to it.

"It is a big weekend for the club, every game is so important. But I'm confident that if the players adopt the same hard working attitude and professionalism that they have in the last six matches, then we'll come through."

The sides met at Heritage Park just over a month ago, when two screamers from Tom Portas and Leon Scott helped the Quakers to a 3-0 victory, David Dowson scored the other goal.
