Darlington defender Kevin Burgess says that there is no need to be downbeat as Quakers prepare for the away game at North Ferriby on Saturday.
Quakers lost for the first time in five games last Saturday against Telford , but Kev expects the lads to bounce back against North Ferriby.
Kev, who is still out with a hip injury, said; “We’ve taken a lot of togetherness into this season from last season, Dominic Collins has fitted in really well.
“I really enjoyed the York City game, even though I’m the sort of bloke who hates sitting in the stand watching games. Considering the bombardment in the first half, for us not to concede was remarkable. We were happy with 0-0 at half time, and yet we could have won it ourselves in the second half
“The lads have looked really strong and well-organised. We had four very good performances and then one poor one, and that’s no reason to be downcast. There was no way that we were going to go through the season undefeated, we were going to lose a game sometime.
“I thought our defeat by Telford was our worst performance of the season, we didn’t really get any rhythm going and didn’t look as dangerous as we usually do. It was an off day for us, so we have to take the rough with the smooth.
“But I’m really confident that the lads will bounce back on Saturday, we always do after a defeat.”
