We’re looking for a Commercial Assistant who has some experience in attracting new sponsors and building relationships with potential sponsors and advertisers, and persuading them to buy match sponsorships, matchball sponsorships, hospitality packages and advertisement boards.

This voluntary position will suit somebody who has already started in a commercial career, and wishes to gain more valuable experience in a sporting environment, as well as helping the club. Hours are flexible and part time.

The successful applicant, who will report to the Operations, Commercial & Community Consultant, will be expected to:

• Develop and expand the business, in liaison with the OCC Consultant, by establishing new relationships with sponsors and advertisers
• Introduce new, profit-making initiatives
• Maintain and improve existing relationships with current sponsors and advertisers
• Assist in the organisation of club functions
• Assist in the promotion of the club when necessary
• Liaise with other functions in the club eg media manager, finance director
• Attend Darlington FC home matches
