Darlington fans have once again come up financial trumps!

In less than a fortnight, Darlington fans have raised a superb £43,000 through community shares to pay for a state of the art pitch at Blackwell Meadows. The club would like to thank the 99 investors who have contributed, and thanks to them, work will start soon.

Club director John Tempest said; “What a superb effort from the fans once again, they have shown how much they love this football club of ours.”

Wayne Raper, chairman of the DFCSG, said; “What can I say?! Yet again the fans of the club never cease to amaze me. The timescale in which the funds needed to be raised was a worry but yet again we've smashed it well ahead of target. I can't wait to see the finished pitch in August.”

There is still plenty more fund raising to be done. There is a Boost the Budget scheme in operation, in which fans are invited to donate towards the playing budget. That figure has already gone past £20,000, with the target to raise £80,000 (Adding the two schemes together, that’s £63,000 in around a fortnight).

The DFCSG have more fund raising pitches, with a new seated stand and terracing behind the Blackwell end goal on the agenda.
