EVO STIK ROUND UP WEEK 35

That meant that Salford City were crowned champions and won promotion to the Evo-Stik Premier Division. Last weekend they won 2-1 away to Burscough. First half goals from Gareth Seddon and Daniel Webber put Salford two up at the break. A goal from Nicholas Ryan early in the second half brought Burscough back into the game, but the Ammies were able to hold on for the crucial win. They are four points ahead of the Quakers going into the final fixtures this week.
The only issue left to be settled this weekend is who will finish third and fourth. Northwich Victoria and Bamber Bridge are guaranteed to play each other in the play-offs, however, whoever finishes in third will be at home for the semi-final. Currently Northwich are one point ahead of Bamber Bridge.
Last weekend the Vics were made to settle for a point at home to Harrogate RA. Mal Farquharson gave Harrogate the lead early in the second half, before two quick goals from Aboubacar Sanogo and Josh Amis turned the game in Nothwich’s favour. However, the game finished 2-2, as Farquharson scored in stoppage time to snatch a point for Harrogate.
Bamber Bridge kept up their chances of a home semi-final with victory away to New Mills. Stuart Vasey scored twice along with goals from Darren Green and Paul Alexander, as Bamber won the game 4-1. Brandon Windsor scoring the consolation for already relegated New Mills.
Spennymoor will meet Darlington in the play-offs after confirming their fifth placed finish in the league. There recent struggles continued as they were held to a 0-0 draw away to Radcliffe Borough.
Scarborough Athletic picked up the biggest win of the weekend, as they thrashed bottom of the table Padiham, 6-1. Ryan Blott and Gary Bradshaw both scored twice with Paul Robson and Alex Metcalfe also on the score sheet for the Seadogs.
Mossley’s great second half to the season continued, as they beat Clitheroe 4-1. Thomas Pratt and Andrew Keogh gave the hosts a 2-0 lead before Ross Dent pulled a goal back for Clitheroe. However, further goals from Michael Fish and Porya Ahmadi sealed the game for Mossley who are in seventh place.
Warrington Town will finish in the top ten, but they were surprisingly defeated, 3-0, at home by Ossett Albion on Saturday. Adam Muller gave Albion the lead on 35 minutes with Connor Brunt and Nicholas Matthews adding further goals in the final quarter of an hour.
Farsley were play-off contenders a few months ago, however, their poor end to the season continues as they slide further down the table. Their latest defeat coming at home, 3-2, to Kendal Town. Jordan Connerton opened the scoring for Kendal before half time, but two goals from Andrew Welsh put Farsley in control. However, goals from Zach Clark and a second from Connerton gave Kendal all the points.
Droylsden are in a similar position to Farsley, with their season falling away in recent months. At the weekend they fell to a 2-0 defeat away to Ossett Town. Ross Armstrong and Nathan Curtis scoring the goals for Town in the second half.
The final game of the week saw Prescot Cables and Brighouse Town draw 0-0 with each other on Saturday.
