Darlington gained back-to-back wins this week to keep up the pressure on Salford City at the top of the league table. Last weekend we came from behind to beat Prescot Cables 4-2 at Heritage Park. We followed this up with another victory away to New Mills on Monday night 5-1.

Despite briefly losing top spot for 24 hours, Salford City stay top of the table with two wins of their own this week. At the weekend they won 3-0 at Ossett Town. All the goals coming in the second half, through Daniel Webber, Jason Harrett and Grant Spencer.

On Tuesday they left it late, but were able to come away from Prescot Cables with a 1-0 victory. Gareth Seddon scored the only goal of the game in the 89th minute. They remain three points clear at the top of the table, having played a game more than both Darlington and Northwich Victoria.

Northwich only played one game this week, but they were able to gain a 2-0 victory at Ossett Town. Josh Amis opened the scoring for Northwich on the hour mark with Reece Fishwick sealing the win in stoppage time.

Bamber Bridge are still fourth after a 2-1 win away to Scarborough Athletic. Kieron Pickup and Darren Green put Bamber two goals ahead. Ryan Blott pulled a goal back for Scarborough late on, but it was not enough.

Spennymoor Town have played the least games of all those in the promotion picture and kept up their title chances with two wins. On Saturday an Andrew Stephenson double helped them to a 2-0 victory at home to Warrington Town.

They followed this up with another 2-0 win, this time at Clitheroe on Tuesday night. Stephenson opened the scoring with Nathan Fisher getting the other.

Mossley also picked up back-to-back victories to move up to sixth. At the weekend they won 2-0 at Radcliffe Borough. Matthew Purcell opened the scoring early on, with John Bennett doubling the lead in the second half.

Mossley also won on Tuesday against Farsley, who are now slipping away from the play-off places. Farsley took the lead through Aiden Savory on the stroke of half-time. However, a penalty from Porya Ahmadi and a goal from Thomas Pratt earned Mossley the win, 2-1.

Farsley had earlier in the week beat Clitheroe 2-0. Lewis Nightingale and Andrew Welsh scoring the goals for Farsley.

Droylsden have slipped down to ninth and their play-off hopes are now all but over. This week they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Brighouse Town on Tuesday night.

At the weekend Brighouse lost 3-1 at home to Lancaster City. Neil Marshall opened the scoring for Lancaster, with Thomas Matthew levelling for Brighouse just after half-time. Ryan Winder and Jacob Davis both scored in the final twenty minutes to claim the victory for Lancaster.

Elsewhere mid-table Harrogate RA and Kendal Town held each other to a 0-0 draw.

The two bottom sides in the league, Padiham and New Mills, met last Saturday.  Daniel Forde scoring the only goal of the game for New Mills in the third minute.

This week Darlington have two tough away fixtures against Warrington Town and Northwich Victoria. Salford City travel to Scarborough Athletic on Saturday, who are need of a victory themselves in their push for a top five place.
