Darlo and me -- Rob Duncan

Profile of a Darlo fan

Paul Hodgson continues our new series of "Darlo and me" with a chat with Rob Duncan.

Name:  Rob Duncan

Occupation: Freelance Quantity Surveyor

Number of years you’ve supported Darlington: 55

First match seen: I cannot remember the exact game as was only around 6, my Dad would have taken me though we lived quite close to the ground.

Most memorable home match: there have been a lot but the game v Hartlepool Monday 4th April 1982.

What was the score?  we won 5-2 I think we may have been 2 down and Alan Walsh scored 4!

Most Memorable away match:  There has been many as a regular away attendee, but the FA Trophy Final would be the one that will be hard to beat! I even made a CD using Ray Simpsons goal commentary for our return to Darlington at BM.

What was the score?  1-0 as we all know Chris Senior with that header!

Favourite all time manager(s) David Hodgson, Peter Madden Jim Platt and I know he didn’t end up being one of our best manager I had a lot of time for Tommy Wright.

Favourite all time players(s): Alan Walsh, Kevan Smith, Craig Liddle, Neil Wainwright, Marco Gabbiadini, Terry Galbraith, Gary Brown, Steve Thompson

Favourite current player(s): Michael Liddle Adam Campbell Will Hatfield Joe Wheatley

Favourite Darlington ground: Always Feethams !

What are your hopes for this season? I have a feeling that this season may not be completed, we are asking for players to take part in difficult circumstances is that fair, my hope is for all to stay safe, if we continue then a play off place is achievable.

As part of a fan owned club and director of DFCSG I would like to see more members, for a small cost of £25 a year why wouldn’t you want to be a proud member of Your Club.
