Quakers were beaten by a stoppage time winner by Nuneaton at Blackwell Meadows.

Quakers got back into the game in the last minute of normal time, but they were caught on the break right at the end

 

 

 

Reece Styche got around the Darlo defence in the 3rd minute, but his cross was cut out at the expense of a corner.

When the corner came in, the ball dropped for Jordan Nicholson, but his left foot effort was blocked.

 

Quakers first chance came on 6 minutes, a high teasing cross by Stephen Thompson was headed wide by Kevin Burgess.

The defender had another chance on 11 minutes when a long throw from the left by Gary Brown dropped for Burgess, who hit a first time shot just wide of the left hand post.

Quakers had another half chance when Burgess crossed from the right and Terry Galbraith headed over, but Nuneaton replied wit ha cross from the right by James Clifton that Reece Styche headed wide..

Quakers then put together good move when galbraith beat two men and found beck laid the ball for Cartman, who was caught offside.

Quakers nearly took the lead on 25 minutes when Turnbull crossed from the left for Scott to head towards the top corner, but Dibble fingertipped the ball against the post.

Quakers had another chance when Chris Hunter ran forward and hit a 30 yard right foot shot over the top, but after that both sides cancelled each other out, with neither keeper troubled.

Quakers had a great chance in the 47th minute when Leon Scott sent Nathan Cartman away in the inside left position, and the little striker fired across Dibble but unfortunately just past the far post.

And Quakers went  close again when Galbraith broke up the left, and his cross was headed just over his own crossbar by Geohaghon.

Gillies then had a chance when he cut in from the left into the centre, but dragged his right foot shot wide.

Nuneaton took the lead after 57 minutes. Styche tried to turn inside the area but went down under a challenge by Gary Brown and the referee pointed to the spot from where Joe Ironside beat Peter Jameson.

And Nuneaton nearly got another when ironside found space to hit a left foot shot into the side netting.

Quakers response was to take off Thompson and replace him with David Syers

 Nuneaton had another chance when Jordan Nicholson turned quickly and struck a low shot that Jameson saved comfortably

Quakers made another substitution, bringing on Harvey Saunders for Nathan Cartman, and Saunders’ first touch nearly brought a goal wit ha left foot shot that Dibble pushed around the post.

Quakers made their last sub, Jordan Watson coming on for Leon Scott.

Quakers had a chance when Galbraith crossed from the left and David Syers headed wide.

But Quakers levelled in the last minute of the 90 when Gillies crossed from the right, and David syers nipped in and glaneced the ball past Dibble .

However, Quakers were caught on the break when Nicholson broke away and hit a powerful left foot shot that beat Jasmeson all ends up or the winner
