Darlington v Northwich Victoria Preview

Darlington host Northwich Victoria this weekend looking to make it back-to-back wins following Wednesday’s comfortable home victory over Lancaster City.

The midweek victory was a huge one for Martin Gray's side having lost three of their previous four league games and one which saw the side move back to the top of the league table.

There is no let up for the Quakers, as this weekend they face one of their toughest and most crucial games of the season at home to fellow title chasers Northwich Victoria.

Northwich come into the game just three points behind Darlington and Salford. The Quakers do, however, have a game in hand on both their nearest title challengers.

The two sides have yet to face each other yet in the league and will meet again in less then a month’s time with the two games likely to have a large say in the title race.

With only one automatic promotion spot available many sides remain in the title picture with Bamber Bridge, Spennymoor Town and Scarborough Athletic all in contention.

Martin Gray should have no new selection worries from Wednesday night, with only Alan White and Amar Purewal unavailable.

Northwich have gone about their business quietly this season having been in the top three for the majority of the season. Despite this most of the attention has remained on Darlington and Salford.

They come into the game in decent form having won their previous five games in all competitions, including three games in the league. They are managed by former Stockport County manager Jim Gannon, a man with a wealth of experience much higher up the football pyramid.

Elsewhere Salford City travel to New Mills, Spennymoor host Clitheroe and Bamber Bridge face Prescot Cables.

Kick off is 3pm at Heritage Park
